This makes it wasy for you to access the same checklist repeatedly
without having to select the specific checklist each time.

Importing
& Exporting using Memo Pad
You can import
Memo Pad items into Checklist, as well as export checklists to Memo
Pad. Checklists can then be edited and archived on the desktop or
shared with other Checklist users.
Please Note:
If you only want to backup your lists, not edit them on the desktop,
simply use the normal Hot Sync procedure. This will create a file
named CheckItDB.PDB in your backup directory on the PC. This file
can be reinstalled on your Palm OS device similar to any other application
or database file in case of a data loss.
Exporting
Checklists
To export
a checklist to the Memo Pad, select the list, then tap Export List
on the List menu. This creates a note in Memo Pad under the category
"unfiled" with the same title as the exported checklist. The syntax
of the note is as follows:
Title|note for
the list
[ ] 1 an unchecked item
[ ] 1 another unchecked item
[·] 1 a checked item
[ ] 1 an unchecked item|with a note text
[ ] 2 an unchecked item with another priority
[ ] 1 an unchecked item that
spans several lines|and also
has a note with more
than one line.
[ ] 1 an unchecked item
Note: The "[
]" is used as a checkbox in Memo Pad since there is no character
for a checkbox. You can edit this memo in your Palm OS application
on your PC and check items by adding a "·" between the
brackets.
Importing
Checklists
Checklist allows you to either import an entire list, or simply
import items by adding them to an existing list.
To import
a complete list
- From the
Checklist List View, tap the menu icon, then tap Import List on
the List menu.
- Tap to select
the Memo Pad item you want to import, then tap Import.
To import
a Memo Pad item into an existing checklist
- Display an
existing checklist, then tap Import List on the List menu.
- Tap to select
the Memo Pad item you want to import, then tap Import.
The export-syntax
should be kept when editing lists on the PC. However, the Import
feature is quite flexible to correctly read in other syntax's, too:
Checklist name|note for the list
· Item|note
· another item|another note
· an item without note
· an item
that spans
several lines|and also
has a note with more than one line.
· an item
You could also
use "-" to mark the items:
Checklist name|note
for the list
- Item|note
- another item|another note
- an item without note
- an item
that spans
several lines|and also
has a note with more than one line.
- an item
You can also
omit any mark for the items. In this case, however, you cannot have
items with more than one line and you can't have a note for the
list. The first line will be used as the title of the checklist.
